Adventure to the A-Frames: Training, Wildlife and a Welcome Return to the Water!
There’s nothing quite like getting back in the water, catching up with fellow divers, and discovering what’s waiting beneath the surface! Our latest adventure took us to the A-Frames for a fantastic day of diving, training, navigation, and marine life spotting. 🤿🌊
A Welcome Return for Sarah
Sarah was very excited to get back in the water after a wee break, and it was brilliant to see her ready for another underwater adventure!
Accompanied by none other than our very own Les, Sarah headed out to enjoy the dive and get back into the swing of things.
Taking a break from diving happens to the best of us, but there’s always something special about that first dive back. The excitement, the familiar feeling of being underwater, and the anticipation of what you might see all make it worthwhile.
Welcome back, Sarah! We hope this is the start of plenty more adventures to come. 💙
Sports Diver Training and Navigation
While Sarah and Les were enjoying their dive, Alistair took Joanne out for some Sports Diver training, with a focus on navigation.
Navigation is an important skill for any developing diver. Being able to understand your surroundings, follow a planned route, and find your way around an underwater site helps build confidence and independence.
With plenty of practical experience to be gained at the A-Frames, it was a great opportunity for Joanne to put her skills into practice and continue progressing with her training.
Every dive is a chance to learn something new, and getting out to explore different sites is all part of becoming a more capable and confident diver.
What Was Hiding Around the A-Frames?
Of course, no dive would be complete without seeing some of the incredible marine life that calls these underwater structures home!
Around the 16-metre A-Frame, the divers encountered a large shoal of cod, along with rock cod and goldsinny blennies. 🐟
But the fish weren’t the only stars of the show!
There were also plenty of fascinating little creatures to discover, including:
* Peacock worms – beautiful marine worms with colourful, feathery crowns.
* Sea squirts – unusual marine animals that attach themselves to underwater surfaces.
* Crabs – always worth keeping an eye out for as they scuttle around the seabed and hide among the structures.
The A-Frames provide plenty of places for marine life to gather, making them an interesting spot to explore. From larger shoals of fish to the smaller creatures tucked away in the surroundings, there’s always something to catch your eye if you take the time to look.
Another Great Day Underwater
It was another brilliant outing, with Sarah enjoying her return to diving, Joanne continuing her Sports Diver training, and everyone getting the chance to appreciate the marine life around the A-Frames.
Days like these are what club diving is all about: supporting each other, developing new skills, exploring new places, and sharing a passion for the underwater world.
A big well done to everyone who got out diving, and here’s to many more adventures, plenty of bubbles, and even more underwater discoveries!
Where will our next dive take us? 🤿🐠
