Tenpin Bowling Night 29th Dec 2025

Strikes, Spares, and Smiles

There’s something wonderfully about a night, the mix of competition and laughter that fills the air. Our tenpin bowling night turned out to be the perfect blend of friendly rivalry, unexpected talent, and plenty of laughs.

Some people confidently stepped up to the lane, convinced they were about to bowl a strike. Others approached with caution, carefully lining up their shot as if the fate of the entire game rested on it. And then there were the rest of us—just hoping the ball would make it to the pins without veering dramatically into the gutter.

Every frame brought something new. There were triumphant cheers for strikes, loud celebrations for spares that felt just as good, and dramatic reactions to near misses. A single pin standing at the end of a roll somehow became both the villain of the night and the source of endless jokes.

The laughter came easily. Between turns, we teased each other about technique. Some had a victory dance while some of us perfected the art of pretending not to care after an unfortunate gutter ball.

As the night went on, competition grew—but only in the best way. Everyone wanted to improve their score, but no one took it too seriously.

By the end of the night, scores mattered far less than the memories made. It wasn’t about who won or lost, but about showing up, trying your best, and laughing through every frame.

I got a little too confident winning the first round (with the gutters up) that I completely tanked the second round (with the gutters removed).

Thanks to Graham for arranging and well done to Les the overall champion.

And one thing’s for sure—next time, we’re coming back for a rematch 🎳

Suzy.
