Diver level: Advanced Diver Instructor level: Open Water Instructor Eleanor Gilroy I have always been interested in nature and the reason I joined BSAC was to allow me to gain the skills required for visiting different underwater habitats to examine all the wildlife you normally can't see or only used to seeing on a plate in a restaurant. Now that I am a research biologist by trade, diving will allow me to combine my interest in nature with a hobbie where you can overcome new challenges. I have enjoyed the training experience, meeting other members of the club and hope I can repay the time and effort spent training us by helping others in the future. Graham was resident instructor on the MV Calypso where he taught the young whipper snapper, Jacques Cousteau to dive. When he joined, he was young man with energy, enthusiasm and a career in corporate change management; he is now older, wiser, balder, fatter and slightly long sighted. His 'made to measure' drysuit now perfectly fits the fine body he used to have in his youth. Tom has been Chairman of DSAC for over 5 years where his role is to tread the political fine line between baying factions and encourage others to do more work than he does.
